Enhanced Self-Assessment Program
Why Senior Drivers and Their Families Value Our
Our Program represents a very objective, third-party approach in assisting the senior driver and/or his or her respective family in making decisions about one's driving future.
Everyone involved is treated with compassion and the utmost amount of respect throughout the entire program. We work to ensure that regardless of the outcome, no one's integrity and dignity become jeopardized.
An integral part of the program's success is that together we will develop a mutually-agreed upon "Recommendation for Improvement" plan. If appropriate, this plan may include recommendations for driving restrictions, or in some cases, a retirement from driving altogether.
Amongst many other features, our program involves an actual driving exercise, as well as a vision-screening administered by a licensed optician.
All information is held strictly confidential, and is only released to the client and whomever he or she identifies on the Release of Information form.
We strive to make the program as convenient as possible for everyone involved. The program can be conducted at one of our remote locations, or at a location more convenient to you. Our times are very accommodating and can be scheduled practically anytime of day Monday through Saturday.
The participation of family, loved-ones, caregivers, and social workers is both recommended and encouraged, but the client ultimately maintains the rights to confidentiality.
Within 7 days of completing the program, the client will be provided with a very comprehensive and detailed report of the self-assessment. This report can then be shared by the client with family and/or medical professionals as the client deems appropriate.
